PICTURES OF AGIOS GORDIS - CORFU

Agios Gordis, halfway down Corfu's west coast, has a mile-long stretch of sand backed by high cliffs which tumble dramatically into the sea. At one end lies a tiny offshore island, looking as if it has broken off the rockface and splashed into the water. As a rule, there's not much going on in lovely Agios Gordis!
During the day, most people are either turning golden brown on the beach while catching up on their reading, or exploring the pine-clad hills behind the resort, and nightlife is limited to a handful of friendly bar/disco bars. You can take a bus over to Corfu town, about sixteen kilometres away, to enjoy the hustle and bustle and get in some serious shopping - but we bet you'll be glad to get back to the tranquil beauty of Agios Gordis!
The long beach of Agios Gordios is found in front of the homonymous small tourist resort within a natural environment of luxurious green, an excellent sea and very interesting scenic features. It is situated at a distance of 19 kilometers eastern to the capital Corfu. The beach is  well organized, sandy in its major part, and pebbly at spots. Impressive groups of rocks seem to divide the beach in smaller parts, one of these groups of rock, named Ortholithi, is found within the sea, a very interesting theme for photographs.
Agios Gordis beach offers facilities for swimming and sunbathing (sun beds, umbrellas) as well as for sea sports. There is also a small diving center at the beach, both for the “freshers” in the sport and for more expert divers. Access from the nearby capital (Corfu, 19 kilometers) is possible by rented or private cars and motorbikes. It is also connected with Corfu by public bus (the green ones), with regular service, and you may always use a taxi
