Ibiza (in Catalan and officially Eivissa) is an island in the Mediterranean and is part of the Autonomous Community of the Balearic Islands, Spain. It has an area of 570 sq km and a population of 113,908 inhabitants.Beautiful beaches, white sand coves, crystal clear shorelines and deep-sea waters are within minutes drive of anywhere in Ibiza. The island’s interior is home to dense pine-forests, refreshing rolling hills, traditional whitewashed villages and extremely friendly locals.
That Ibiza is relatively tiny tends to work out well for holiday makers as it means all the main attractions are situated around the 2 main centres of San Antonio and Ibiza Town (which are about 10 miles apart or a 10-15 minute taxi) or within easy travelling distance. Ibiza Old Town itself is steeped in culture and history and the island’s capital, with its mediaeval walls and dominating Cathedral is one of the most beautiful towns in the Mediterranean.
